Whether you’re a fan of Deadpool (also known as Wade Wilson, and also also known as the Merc with a Mouth) or not, you have to appreciate the story of how his movies came to be. A passion project of actor Ryan Reynolds, the creators of the first film shot some test material, leaked it online, and before they knew it, they had a massive hit on their hands.
As of right now, Deadpool holds the top spot of the highest-grossing R rated movie of all time, which is no small feat! Known as something of an outlier in the world of comic books, it’s a wonderful bit of irony that his movie should be so successful.
When fans heard that Cable would be featured in Deadpool 2, comic book fans were thrilled, but as CNET puts it, he has “the most convoluted backstory in comics.” They do quite nicely, summing up the character as “a tragic time traveler with a metal arm and a light-up laser eye.” Cable is played, to critical acclaim, by actor Josh Brolin (who, strangely enough, portrayed Thanos in The Avengers: Infinity War as well).
However confusing his backstory might be, one thing is for certain--Cable is a tough guy who knows how to do what needs to be done. It only makes sense that he’d put his trust in a Klik Belt.
