Klik Belts for Law Enforcement

In law enforcement, one of the most important parts of an officer’s uniform is their belt. A law enforcement officer’s belt must be extremely strong so that it can support all of the needed equipment including a firearm, radio, baton, handcuffs, and more. A police belt must also be comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time since law enforcement officers often work long shifts.

At Klik Belts, our belts are made from the highest-quality materials and they are manufactured right here in the United States. Our belts are incredibly strong, durable, and are made from materials that will also be comfortable for a law enforcement officer to wear for extended periods of time.

If you are a law enforcement officer, consider purchasing a Klik Belt for your next police belt. We even offer a Public Safety Appreciation Discount for law enforcement officers, military personnel, and first responders. Shop our wide-duty three-ply belts and our two-ply belts today.

How to Choose a Police Belt

When you are shopping for a police belt, there are several factors that you’ll want to consider. As a law enforcement officer, you’ll want a belt that is strong and stiff enough to carry all of your equipment, but you’ll also want to consider comfort. While carrying your gun, flashlight, baton, and other equipment at your waist may not be the most comfortable experience, you can choose a police belt that doesn’t dig into your sides or constantly fall down. You can make decisions that will ensure that you have a strong and durable police belt that is also comfortable enough for you to work in.

Durability

You’ll want to choose a police belt that is extremely durable. Consider the fact that you’ll be loading your belt up with heavy equipment every day. You want a belt that won’t fray, split, or break. You have an important job to do, and you need a belt that will be there when you need it.

Strength

One of the most important aspects of a police belt is that it must be extremely strong. That means it should be produced from high-quality materials that will hold the weight of your firearm, flashlight, radio, cuffs, and all the other equipment that you’ll be carrying. A police belt must be strong enough to carry that weight every single day.

When you choose a Klik Belt as your police belt, you can be sure that your new belt will securely hold all of your equipment. Our belts are made from tough nylon and each one is equipped with a Cobra® belt buckle, so you’ll never have to worry about the buckle giving in under pressure. Whether you choose our 1.5-inch two-ply belt or our 1.75-inch three-ply duty belt, you can be sure that your police belt will be there when you need it.

Comfort

When deciding on a police belt, it’s important to choose one that allows you to comfortably sit, stand, walk, and run. You want to ensure that the belt won’t be digging into your side or stomach when you sit down in your patrol car and that you won’t have to readjust your belt every time you stand up. A good police belt will have the strength and durability to carry all of your equipment while remaining securely at your waist and providing enough comfort for you to move around and be effective at your job.

Adjustability

If you are searching for a police belt, adjustability is important. When you choose a belt that has an old-fashioned prong belt buckle, many times, your belt will end up being slightly too tight or just a bit too loose, and there is no in-between.

When you choose a Klik Belt for your police belt, you can adjust your belt to the exact fit that is comfortable for you. Our Cobra® belt buckle is not only super strong, but it also allows you to pull the tail to tighten your belt as much or as little as you like.

Stiffness

Another important factor in a police belt is that it needs to be stiff enough to hold your equipment in place without bending or giving way. A two-ply or three-ply belt is preferred for a police belt. At Klik Belts, we offer both two-ply and three-ply belts tactical belts that are capable of holding your radio, firearm, and all of your other equipment.

The Setup of a Law Enforcement Officer’s Belt

As important as the quality of the police belt is for a law enforcement officer, the setup of the belt is just as important. A police belt must be set up in a way that the law enforcement officer has quick, easy access to all of their necessary equipment. Also, you’ll want to set up your belt the same way every time so that muscle memory will locate your firearm, cuffs, baton, radio, or other important equipment in the event of an emergency.

The proper setup of your police belt is imperative to your safety and the safety of others. In this section, we will discuss one possible way to set up your police belt. However, personal preferences and department standards may vary and necessitate different police belt setups.

Handcuffs

In this particular setup, the handcuffs will go immediately to the right of the belt buckle. This allows the law enforcement officer to easily grab the cuffs with either hand, which can be extremely helpful in emergency situations.

Firearm

The firearm will go directly to the right of the handcuffs as we move clockwise around the police belt. This setup is ideal for those who are right-handed as it provides easy access to the firearm with the dominant right hand. The firearm is secured with a set of keepers to keep it in place since it is one of the heaviest pieces of equipment that a law enforcement officer will carry.

Collapsible Baton

As we continue to move clockwise around the belt, we have the collapsible baton next. This also allows the law enforcement officer to access the baton with their dominant hand, assuming that they are right-handed.

Key Ring Hook

The next piece of equipment on the law enforcement belt will be a small ring. It is placed behind the baton on the back right side. This ring is most commonly used for keys but can also be used for carrying other small items. This location keeps the key ring hook out of the way but still accessible when needed.

Flashlight

Continuing around the police belt, we’ll skip the back of the belt, and start again on the left backside. This is an ideal place for your flashlight because it allows easy access while ensuring that you will not mistake it for a weapon. It also makes it easier for you to grab the flashlight with your left hand, leaving your dominant hand free to access your firearm if needed.

Radio

Next, as we move closer to your front, comes the radio. This provides some balance of weight since your firearm is on the other side of your police belt. It also gives you access to the radio with your left hand while your right hand is left free to access your firearm or baton if needed.

OC Spray

Continuing around the belt clockwise, next will come your Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray. Better known as pepper spray, this is a light weapon that can be easily used with your dominant or non-dominant hand. Keeping your OC spray on your left side will also prevent an assailant from thinking that you are reaching for your firearm when you are in fact reaching for a non-lethal, yet still effective, weapon.

Spare Magazines

As we finish the set-up of your police belt, we’ll circle around to your front again, just to the left of your belt buckle, where we’ll place your spare magazines. This is an ideal place to keep spare magazines as it gives you access to them with your non-dominant hand, while your right hand is utilizing your firearm. This makes it convenient to reach for your spare magazines and reload your firearm when it is necessary.

While this is not the only way to set up a police belt, it is one way that some law enforcement officers prefer. Setting up your belt may require some trial and error as it also comes down to personal preferences as well as your department’s standards. No matter how you choose to set up your police belt, it’s imperative that you know exactly where everything is, so in the event of an emergency, your muscle memory will take over and you will not be fumbling around searching for your firearm, radio, or OC spray. The set-up of your police belt will most likely be unique to you, but no matter how you set it up, it must be efficient.

If you are in law enforcement and you are searching for the best police belt, look no further than Klik Belts. We offer varying strengths and widths so that we are sure to have a belt to fit your specific needs. Don’t forget to utilize our Public Safety Appreciation Discount for law enforcement personnel when you order.

How to Make Wearing a Law Enforcement Belt More Comfortable

While a strong, durable, and reliable police belt is imperative, comfort is another important aspect to consider. A police belt needs to be comfortable enough for you to move around and get your job done. You’ll want a belt that you can comfortably sit in your patrol car with, stand, run, or walk with ease. You don’t want to have to constantly readjust your police belt, and you definitely don’t want it to be so uncomfortable that it prevents you from effectively doing your job.

While your first concern may be the strength of your police belt, there are certain steps you can take to make your belt a bit more comfortable. After all, you will be wearing your belt during long shifts and you don’t want to dread putting it on every day. Continue reading to learn a few tips and tricks on how to make your police belt a bit more comfortable.

Avoid Placing Hard Objects by Your Spine

When you are setting up your police belt, a good general rule is to keep items away from your spine. While many officers prefer to carry their handcuffs in this area for easy access, it can put a lot of pressure on your back when you sit. For officers that spend time in their patrol car, keeping hard objects like your handcuffs on your police belt by your spine can cause back pain.

Carry a Compact Flashlight

While you want to make sure that you have a powerful flashlight, that does not mean that your flashlight needs to be particularly large. Carrying a compact but powerful flashlight ensures that you have the equipment that you need while not adding any extra weight to your waist.

Wear an Easily Adjustable Police Belt

When you are deciding on which police belt to purchase, it’s important that you choose one that is easily adjustable. If your belt has a traditional prong belt buckle, it can end up being slightly too tight or a bit too loose, and there is no way for you to adjust it. With this type of belt buckle, you have to choose a hole to put the prong through and there’s not too much in-between.

When you choose an easily adjustable belt like the Klik Belt, you can tighten your police belt to the exact fit that is comfortable for you. You can ensure that your belt is tight enough to hold up all of your equipment but not so tight that it digs into your sides.

Choose a Nylon Belt

While police belts can be found in both nylon and leather, nylon belts tend to be more comfortable. They are less likely to dig into your sides and still provide the stiffness and strength that you need to carry all of your equipment.

Consider the Width of the Belt

The width of your police belt can also determine how comfortable it will be. Belts that are extremely wide and over two inches in width tend to be less comfortable, while belts that are just a bit thinner can still provide the support you need while not making carrying your equipment any more uncomfortable than it needs to be.

At Klik Belts, we offer a 1.5-inch belt and a 1.75-inch belt so that you can choose the width that works best for you. When you choose a Klik Belt as your police belt, you can be sure that you are receiving a high-quality product that will last you for years to come. The Tough Nylon Belt

Our Klik Belts are made from tough nylon. We chose this material because it is extremely strong but also comfortable. Our belts are easily adjustable and available in varying widths and strengths so that you can choose one that can provide the rigidity and strength to support any equipment that you’ll need to carry.

Strength

We chose nylon for our belt, first and foremost, because of its strength. Our nylon belts will not fray, tear, or break. They are triple-stitched for extra strength and will stand up to the weight of your equipment every day.

Rigid

Our two-ply and three-ply nylon belts are rigid enough to hold all of your equipment in place without bending or giving way. When it comes to choosing the best belt for law enforcement, you can depend on the Klik Belt.

Available in Different Width and Strengths

We offer our 1.5-inch belt in one-ply and two-ply, while our 1.75-inch belt comes in either one-ply or three-ply. This allows you to choose a belt with the strength that you need while ensuring that your belt is not so rigid or so wide that it is uncomfortable.

  • One-Ply : Our one-ply belt is made from our tough nylon. This belt isn’t necessarily recommended for carrying equipment at your waist but is ideal for a comfortable belt to wear on your day off. It looks great and is a bit more flexible than our other belts.
  • Two-Ply : Our two-ply belt is considered our tactical belt. This belt is made from an outer layer of our tough nylon and an inner ply of proprietary rigid webbing. This belt is stronger and more rigid than the one-ply belt making it ideal for concealed carry. It is also strong enough to carry other equipment such as radios, batons, and handcuffs as well.
  • Three-Ply : Our 1.75-inch belt is available in three-ply. This was specifically requested by law enforcement agents and first responders who needed a stronger, wider belt to carry a large amount of equipment. This belt is the most rigid and strongest belt that we offer so you can be absolutely sure that your police belt can support all of your equipment.

Comfort

Another reason we chose nylon for our belts is because it’s comfortable. When you are working long hours as a law enforcement officer, you want a belt that is strong enough to carry your equipment, but comfortable enough that you can wear it all day.
